About Lori Fox – Founder & Director
Working with children and families is something that I have enjoyed doing ever since I got my first babysitting job when I was fifteen years old. I wasn’t sure what God had planned for me and although I stumbled over many hurdles along the way, I am very blessed to be where I am today. After five years and two children later, I received my MA degree in School Psychology from Argosy University here in Phoenix. Born and raised in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, I was not sure Phoenix was going to be where I call home, but with a great husband and two wonderful boys, we have made Phoenix our home…for now.
Infant Massage is something that I got into once my second son was born.
He was born early, at thirty-two weeks. He weighed only 3 lbs and 14 ounces and spent his first ten days in the NICU of Scottsdale Shea Hospital. I was there about eight of those days, as I was struggling with preeclampsia. When he came home, I didn’t know how to hold him, care for him, and began to enter into postpartum depression, I found a way that my son and I could bond, and I could learn how to love and feel confident and comfortable with his little fragile body. It was through massage.
After working for seven years in early intervention as a family support specialist and later as a child and family therapist, I decided to take some time off and help my husband build his business. Fox Designs has become a wonderful web design company that I have truly enjoyed building. It was in 2010 that I got certified in Early Infant Massage and Bonding as well as in early Trauma. I have recently been re-certified in infant massage and early bonding in 2013 and have decided, through the grace of God to embark on my own journey and continue to work with children and families. I love what I do and anything is possible with a little FAITH and LOVE!
